The Global Leadership Board serves as the planning committee for the community. They set and execute the vision for the year ahead with specific goals and develop programming and initiatives to deliver on those goals. Programming centers around professional development, social engagement, volunteering, Israel and Jewish engagement, and other areas of interest. The board works in close partnership with Excel staff to create the most exciting, relevant content for our fellows.

Current Board Positions Include:

Chair, Vice Chair, Board Manager, Communications Chair, Finance Chair, Philanthropy Chair, Professional Development Chair, Social Chair, Global Chair, Partnerships Chair, Jewish & Israel Engagement Chair, Business Development Chair, Public Relations Chair, Recruitment Chair, Engagement Chair, and Development Chair.

City Captains are dedicated leaders, in each city where there are more than five Excel Fellows, who develop specific events for Excel Fellows in that city - everything from a panel discussion with Excel Fellows in the Mexico City VC space to an Atlanta Shabbat dinner gathering. City Captains work closely with the Board’s Social Chairs and Excel Staff.

Industry Captains are Excel Fellows with industry expertise who plan industry-specific events, recruit relevant speakers for networking opportunities, and share their wisdom and mentorship with Excel Fellows starting out or looking for a career change.

Summit Chairs support the planning and execution of the annual Global Summit in NYC, specifically with coordinating keynote speakers and fellow-led sessions. They work closely with the Excel Board, Staff, and Summit production company.

New this year, Cohort Captains represent their respective cohorts in communitywide discussions, relay important announcements and information, and help keep Excelers engaged with the community and its offerings.

We hold elections for open roles each year in the summer/early fall. Please stay tuned for application information, and feel free to reach out to Naama Shaham with any questions you may have in the interim.

There are also opportunities to support Excel’s recruitment process – stay tuned for information on hosting local recruitment events, serving as a Campus Rep, or participating in the first-round interview process.
